Confession. I am planner crazy. Oh, who am I kidding, if you’ve been following this blog for any amount of time, you will know, I am overbearingly crazy and excessively compulsive when it comes to choosing the right planner or diary for the coming year.
When Whimsical Designs asked me to review their weekly planner and notebook, I was thrilled! The planner comes with interchangeable covers, personalized to include your name or monogram.
The monthly tabs are both sturdy and stylish and facilitate easy navigation through the planner.
The mint and lavender colours are girly enough to intrigue me, without repulsing the anti-pink rebel in me. The design is clean and simple and the fonts are gorgeous!
Every new month starts with a monthly overview and highlights to encourage intentional living and goal setting.
The calendar view uses the exact layout that I have been using in my home management binders and that I am currently using in my bullet journal.
The weekly planner is elegantly laid out vertically, similar to the Passion Planner, with 3 sections to use as you please. I’ve been toying with the idea of using the first section for my personal schedule, the middle for the kids and the bottom for work-related reminders and tasks. Alternatively, you would use it for the morning, noon and evening activities or appointments.
I thought the ring binder would bother me, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the fact that it doesn’t. The pages are easy to turn without getting stuck and the outer laminated covers are sturdy enough to protect the planner.
Both the notebook and planner has a pocket at the back of the book and the planner comes with a nifty sheet of stickers.
The notebooks are available with dot-grid (my favourite) as well as lined paper.
These planners and notebooks are custom handmade and locally produced. They are perfect Christmas gifts and are available in English and Afrikaans. Shop online by clicking here, alternately…

Flexibility for me
It has to be size!
functional and something beautiful but clean to look at.
Me please! Love this :)
I need to organise my life better next year. This would really help.
I LOVE IT <3
Layout and size
Must be practical and goal orientated!
Size is a big criteria. I want it big enough to write everything I need and still fit in my handbag. I too rather avoid a ring binder but good to know it was easy to still write and use. I like to have a page with important dates such as public and school holidays. The stickers are a fun extra.
